Bridal Makeup FAQs
-
Wedding makeup is very different from everyday makeup. A professional artist will ensure that your makeup will look amazing both in person and in photos, and last all day long.
Makeup Artists are also going to be the ones waking up with you, so hiring professionals is a way to be relaxed and get pampered before all the hustle and bustle of the day. Makeup is truly the one part of the day that is all about YOU!
-
I understand how important it is to feel like yourself on your wedding day. I believe makeup is meant to enhance beauty rather than to mask it.
I specialize in natural and soft glam, so you can feel like the most elevated version of yourself - never heavy, never cakey, and never unrecognizable.
And of course, a trial and communication beforehand about your desired look will ensure that I achieve exactly what you are envisioning.
-
You may think you found the perfect inspiration photo of how you would like your makeup done, and that’s always a great guideline! However, makeup looks different on everybody.
A trial gives you the chance to experiment with different textures, colors, and intensity to see what suits your face best. It also allows me to deep dive into your inspiration pictures and determine what it is you really like about those makeup looks.
Also, you may tell me that your skin is dry, and then notice throughout the day that your face with makeup is getting oily. A trial is a great chance to give me feedback on how the makeup wears on your unique skin throughout the day.
Overall, a trial eases stress on the wedding day since time will be saved due to prior consultations before and after the trial, and you will be confident in any adjustments to perfect the look on your wedding day.
-
Book a trial - trials aren’t just for the bride! This is a great way for me to thoroughly communicate the makeup process and any concerns they have before the wedding day to eliminate all stress.

Depending on the size of your wedding party, I will bring a team of certified makeup artists with me to accommodate everyone.
These artists are trained in the same manner as myself and are highly skilled professionals with a similar makeup style.
-
Bridal Makeup typically takes 2 to 2.5 hours.
Makeup for each member of the wedding party takes between 45 minutes to an hour.
-
I take into account the time of makeup application as listed above, and then I add an extra hour on top of that to allow for any surprises to occur without impacting the timeline of the day.
(It’s your wedding day - people are going to be wanting your attention!)
-
My team and I require 30 minutes for a full setup. When you book with Erica Lynn MUA, I specify an arrival time and a start time. The arrival time is the time that my team and I will be arriving to the venue to set up, and the start time is 30 minutes after the arrival time, when makeup services will begin.
-
I typically base the start time off of the photographer’s arrival time. Whenever the photographer arrives, the bride and the wedding party will have their makeup completed.
This allows for the photographer to get any staged photos of makeup finishing touches on the bride.
-
Rest assured my team and I will be fully prepared to ensure that there is a smooth start to your wedding day. Each artist will bring lights, extension cords, a makeup chair (if needed), a personal trash can, and a full makeup kit for all skin types and tones.
-
The sanitation and cleanliness of my kit is my top priority to ensure the health of my clients. Makeup application tools, such as sponges and powder puffs, are only used once per client and then thrown away (or offered to the client to keep).
Before every appointment, I thoroughly clean my makeup brushes and spray them with alcohol. I only use one set of clean makeup brushes per client.
When using disposable applicators for lipstick or mascara, I dip them in the tube once and then switch to a new one. To ensure that my makeup itself is sanitized, I spray all products with a sanitation mist between each client. Lip and eye liners are sharpened and sprayed with alcohol between every client.
